Lesson Learned
Ok so I had a loc maintenance appointment on Friday that was scheduled for 9:30 am. I arrived a few minutes early and decided to sit in my car because I didn't see any other cars in the parking lot. At 9:20, I walked up to the front door and realized that no one was there. I waited until minutes passed my appointment for someone to show up, and to my surprise, no one ever did. I was a little annoyed because it was my day off and I would not have even been out of bed that early if I didn't have my appoinment. I thought it was very rude and unprofessional that no one at least called to let me know that my loctician wasn't coming. Any how, I didn't let it bother me. Instead, I went to the hair store and spent less money on hair products than I would have if I paid my stylest to do my hair. I did my own hair and it turned out great. I was proud of myself because I was able to save money by figuring out how to do my own hair. This experience was lesson learned: for now on, I can save money by doing things for myself instead of always being quick to pay someone to do it for me. However, I still want a loctician that I can see perhaps once a month or two just to make sure that my locs are on the right track and that I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do, but for now on, I will be doing my hair more often.

Beginning My Loc journey
I am one month into my loc journey. I have been so excited about this new project in my life. Many people decide to lock their hair for different reasons, but the reason that I decided to do it was because I was sick and tired of rocking my short Afro that has been too stubborn to grow out. I honestly was tired of seeing others do their hair in a variety of beautiful styles while I have been desperately trying to grow my natural hair for almost 3 years. Yes, that's right: 3 years. For 3 years, I have been struggling with this same twa and I'm sick of it! I have been dignosed with hythyroidism which has been causing my hair to break off a lot, but since I startedy\medication, the breakage stopped, however, my hair hasn't been getting longer. Because there is less breakage involved in locs, I have a better chance of my hair gaining length with them.
Although I just started this journey one month ago, my husband and I have been seeing a dramatic increase in length. I'm so excited to see what the future has in store for me with my locs. If anyone has any advice for a newby like me, please comment. Thanks for reading.
